THE FORGOTTEN BLESSING

“THE FORGOTTEN BLESSING”

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 - NKJV

The walk with God is full of events, surprises, emotions, as well as many mistakes from our side. We may start a given season very well, and suddenly perceive that we miserably failed at some point. Then, guilt and sadness arrive, and our joy with the Lord can become just a daily soured ritual of false spirituality full of hypocrisy and shame. The Bible has a recipe for those moments: it’s called confession, and you can freely use it whenever you need! It is that sublime time where we come into the presence of our Lord and say: ”Lord, I am sorry, I have failed when I did so and so, I regret my wrongdoing, please forgive me, and I will try again with your help.”

Confessing our faults and sins works like a washing of the soul, as a chance to restart, as an opportunity to try again and do right before the eyes of our Lord. Going into the presence of our Father and humbly and sincerely asking forgiveness will remove a very heavy weight of our shoulders, and produce in us spiritual awareness and even physical health.

The fact that we have so much confusion, guilt and all the consequences that come with them because of unconfessed sins, including so many emotional diseases, in part is because we do not come to the Lord in confession regularly, as Scriptures tells us to do. The Lord Jesus also taught us to ordinarily confess our sins when He gave us the prayer model we should use as a standard in our devotional practice.

Do you want a fresh start with God, with yourself and the ones close to you? Do you need a do over? Make a self examination, search your heart with the help of the Holy Spirit, seize this forgotten blessing, and in the words of our brother David in the Psalm 139, tell the Lord: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Remember, a forgiven heart will gain all the boost necessary to restart the process, and accomplish the dreams the Lord has for you. If you haven’t done it in a while, why not try right now?? I can guarantee that after talking to the Lord, you will stand up reinvigorated and ready to start the journey again.

Wishing many blessings to you and your family!
