“WHEN THE FOUNDATIONS ARE DESTROYED"

“WHEN THE FOUNDATIONS ARE DESTROYED"

Beloved Unchained Family and friends:

Psalm 11:3 brings a very intriguing question:
“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

In the last weeks we have seen an increasing number of episodes where it seems some groups intend to destroy what this Nation has built in centuries of history. Foundations have been shaken, centenary practices are questioned and even ridiculed and values and reputations which we thought were cemented forever, have been put to a rigorous test.

The unchanging Bible, as the living Word of God asks, then: What can the righteous do if the foundations are destroyed?

As Christians and believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and with the assurance that everything it happens is under His control, we can do at least 3 things:

  1. Spread hope - we must continue sowing a message of peace, hope and encouragement, without compromising it, and also be salt and light in these challenging times, seasoning situations and shining among men for the glory of God;

  2. Stand for justice - We are called to be a reference and a voice for this age, and the best way to be heard is to preach the liberating, unfailing and unchaining power of the Gospel through Jesus Christ;

  3. Pray - As intercessors, we must faithfully exercise the tasks that come with our title of royal priests given by the Lord. We must fight in prayer, humbly asking that the God Almighty will help this generation to not consume itself with violence, hatred, and by any form of human degradation.

I believe it’s for our benefit to read and meditate in the remaining verses of this Psalm, and observe that the first thing we notice is that the Lord is in His holy temple, and His eyes are well open and absolutely aware of everything. Take a look on verses 4 through 7:

“The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them. The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face."

Wishing many blessings to you and your family,
