GIVE THANKS!

Every time I see the story of the ten lepers in the Scriptures I think about how beautiful was the attitude of that Samaritan man who decided to thank the Lord Jesus for the wonderful oracle performed in his life.

We can learn at least two lessons from the passage:

1. Jesus expects our gratitude

Notice that Jesus was surprised when only one person - from the ten healed, came back to thank Him for being healed of that horrible disease.
The truth is that the Lord expects our gratitude, He evaluates how appreciative we are for all the countless blessings received everyday, and a grateful heart should be something always pursued by us, because that pleases our Lord.

2. Thankfulness means change of course
As soon as the man obeyed the command of the Lord, He was healed! Then, instead of going to see the priest, or his family, or anyone else, his direction was changed towards His Saviour.
A grateful heart walks towards God. A life filled with thankfulness wants to be close to the Master, and the best way to show appreciation for everything the Lord has done, is to be connected with Him, even if the entire course of our existence has to change. When we are grateful, our priorities show it.

When we think about how challenging the year 2020 has been, it’s easy to forget all the goodness and faithfulness we also have experienced from God. Who would foresee in the last Thanksgiving in 2019 that we would face such a different year?
That’s why today our approach will be one of optimism and celebration for being sons and daughters of God, redeemed by the blood of His only Son, and with the assurance that soon, we will be with Him forever, in a perfect, sinless and wonderful world.

Wishing peace, health and many blessings to your body and soul,
